Earlier today, the European Commission has published amendments to the regulation for ecodesign requirements for electromotors. The Commission states that these amendments were necessary due to technical developments in the market of electromotors that led to changes on the limit values applied to altitude, maximum and minimum ambient air temperatures and water coolant temperatures applied to consider that a motor works under extreme conditions and in consequece a special design is needed. It considers that the changes should be reflected in the regulations.
