List of European Electrical Safety Standards Updated

Manufacturers of CE marked electrical equipment listen up: this week, the list of European harmonized standards that pertain to the European Low Voltage Directive (2006/95/EC) has been updated. This means you need to check if the standards you have applied for the CE marking testing or conformity assessment of your equipment have been updated, or whether new relevant standards have been introduced.

The application of the relevant European harmonized standards lead to a presumption of conformity that the CE requirements have been fulfilled. However, when standards are updated, the presumption of conformity for the old version is repealed. In that case, the CE marking may not be affixed anymore.
If the European harmonized standards that you have used indeed have been updated, you need to check the new version of the standard, and where necessary repeat the conformity assessment.

The new list of standards will be added to our Library shortly.
